Meet the founder
Eileen Berger's mission was to start a foundation to help provide as many children possible with shoes in The Dominican Republic. At the age of 6 years old Eileen and her family visited her mother's home town, San Juan De La Managua in the Dominican Republic. Eileen was really touched by the living conditions she witnessed families with children being exposed to . She was especially saddened watching the children running and playing barefooted on the hot ground.
In 2015 at age 9, Eileen Berger started "Happy Feet Foundation". The foundation would allow Eileen to help less fortunate children in The Dominican Republic. Eileen believes she can make a difference and she hopes others will follow her lead.
In her effort to collect shoes, Eileen visits local businesses hoping they will agree to place a collection box in their office for donations. With the help of social media and friends she is hoping the good word will spread. Eileen's fund raisers have been a success and have allowed her to provide over 200 pairs of shoes on her first mission to The Dominican Republic in January 2016.
Eileen's commitment and hard work to help make children smile is a beautiful quality. Her dream is to take her foundation world wide and make the world a better place.
